Cameron Parish Release Meanings
A release is a custody event, not one fixed legal result. Cameron Parish Jail can hold people awaiting court, serving a local sentence, or waiting for transfer. Dismissal or acquittal can support release, but it does not erase an arrest record by itself. Escape and death can also end ordinary roster presence, yet neither is a release. Exact labels matter. - Identify the person with a full name, an approximate booking date, and a booking number when known.
- Ask for the existing booking-and-release record and movement or transfer record. Name the desired fields.
- Request the booking photograph as a separate record if it is maintained and public.
- Prefer electronic copies. Ask for a cost estimate before copy charges are incurred.
- If part is withheld, ask for the legal basis and all reasonably separable public portions.

Cameron Parish Release Record Law
Louisiana R.S. 44:31 states the general right to inspect or copy public records, subject to legal exceptions. R.S. 44:1 defines public records and the custodian. R.S. 44:32 governs examination, reproduction, fees, and denial notices. Law-enforcement material can receive special treatment under R.S. 44:3, so investigatory, juvenile, security, medical, victim, sealed, and identifying details may be withheld or redacted under applicable law.
Retention is not the same as online display. No Cameron post-release roster window was verified. R.S. 44:36 gives a three-year default minimum where no other law or approved schedule controls, but it does not prove that every release record remains online or that every record follows one fixed term. Cameron Parish Bond Release Timing
Cameron’s official bonding directions separate surety bonds from cash bonds. A surety bond uses a local bondsman or bonding agency. For a cash bond, the instructions provide a payment route and then tell the payer to notify the jail at 337-775-2125 after the paperwork and payment are complete. That call lets staff know the payment step is done.
Payment is not proof that the person has left. Staff may still need to verify paperwork and complete release processing. Another warrant, detainer, or transfer order can also change the destination. The safe sequence is payment confirmation, jail notification, then a separate call to confirm whether Cameron still holds the person and whether departure was to the community or another agency. No official source gives a fixed processing time.

Cameron Release With Immigration Hold
The inspected official Cameron roster data included an “Immigration Hold.” Clearing local bond may therefore be followed by immigration custody instead of release to the community. That field does not prove Cameron has an ICE contract, name a destination, or establish what happened in one person’s case.
First ask Cameron Parish Jail whether a handoff occurred and which authority received the person. Then use ICE’s locator with the required A-number or identity details. ICE’s online service has limits, and a negative result does not certify release. Cameron Parish Post-Release Status

A correction request should name the disputed field and include the underlying court order or other source record. Avoid sharing sensitive identifiers beyond what the responsible office needs. Ask whether a corrected record or annotation is available.

Confirm the release event before arranging travel. Then ask the jail about the approved waiting point and call the transit provider about eligibility, reservations, and routes. No sheriff source gives a standard exit door, family waiting area, or release hour. Rural travel plans should therefore be made from direct instructions, not from an assumed city bus route.
Cameron Release Statistics Limits
DPS&C’s 2025 admissions table reports nine state-prison admissions by parish of conviction for Cameron. The measure is narrow. It counts state admissions tied to the parish of conviction, not Cameron Parish Jail releases, Cameron residents, bookings, or roster turnover.
No reliable official local-jail annual release count, booking count, average stay, or turnover figure was found. The state number should never fill that gap. A person-level search also cannot be inferred from an annual table. Use the jail event, court case, and destination record for the named person.

Cameron Parish Jail is the only locally situated jail in the official DPS&C parish directory. The jail is listed at 119 Smith Circle, P.O. A person can leave the jail for the community after bond, a court order, time served, or a completed local sentence. The next stop can instead be DPS&C, another jail, federal or immigration custody, or a medical setting. Call first, request the release or movement record, and follow the named destination. State prisons, BOP institutions, and ICE sites serving later custody are search systems, not additional Cameron Parish facilities.
